Opened in 2015, this estate lets fallow deer roam between the cottages. Aqua Mundo (8 slides), Tree Houses, and Futuroscope a little over an hour's drive away.
What the listings don't tell you
Your stay at the park
Fallow deer move about between the cottages. This is not a figure of speech: the estate, opened in 2015 in the Vienne, was designed without internal fencing, and the animals cross the paths. Children spend part of the stay watching for them through the window. The Treehouses, raised and glazed, take the idea further, alongside the Comfort, Premium and VIP Cottages.
The Aqua Mundo has eight slides, the highest number of our French parks. The park also has a private sauna, a children's club, an indoor play area, a supermarket, bikes for hire and wifi, and accepts dogs. Our data does not mention a spa.
Contrary to what the sales pitch suggests, Futuroscope is not on the doorstep: allow 1 hour 10 minutes of driving, meaning a whole day out and a late return. What is genuinely close by belongs to the Loire heritage. The royal abbey of Fontevraud, burial place of the Plantagenets, is 24 minutes away; the troglodyte cellars of Turquant, cut into the tuffeau, 30; Saumur and its château 39; Chinon 38. The Auberge de la Route d'Or, at Candes-Saint-Martin, opens Wednesday to Sunday and closes from November to March, 28 minutes away. No public rating is available in our sources. The park is aimed at families who come for a week and are willing to alternate days at the park with abbey visits. From Belgium, the distance settles the question on its own: 7 hours 07 minutes from Brussels. From Paris, 3 hours 50 minutes.
