Roompot's historic park on the Oosterschelde, moved to the Landal brand after the Roompot-Landal merger. Bungalows, chalets and camping pitches beside the Veerse Meer, a beach 200 m away and a large indoor pool with a wave pool. Very busy in summer.

What the listings don't tell you

Your stay at the park

The park has changed name: the former Roompot Beach Resort is now called Landal Beach Resort Kamperland, after the merger of the two brands. It occupies a site on the edge of the Veerse Meer, with the beach 200 metres away, and mixes bungalows, chalets and camping pitches on a single estate. That coexistence explains the atmosphere: it is dense and busy in July and August, much quieter in April or October. The indoor pool with a wave pool, the mini-market, the children's club, the indoor play hall and the wellness area make it possible to stay several days without getting back in the car.

Around it, Zeeland is covered by bike along the dykes, on flat waymarked routes of about thirty kilometres. Deltapark Neeltje Jans, fifteen minutes away, combines the Scheldt barrier, an aquarium and slides; the boat trips to watch seals leave from the same place, from April to October. Veere, a former medieval port, is twenty minutes away, and Middelburg, with its 90-metre tower to climb, twenty-five. Yerseke, the mussel and oyster capital of Zeeland, takes thirty-eight minutes.

Two caveats. Our survey does not record dogs as accepted in the accommodation; confirm with the operator before you book. And the Brouwersdam kitesurfing spot, often mentioned for the region, is a good half-hour's drive away: it is a day out, not a spot on your doorstep. The public rating, 7.6 out of 10 recorded on Zoover, comes with no verifiable number of reviews, which invites reading it as an order of magnitude.
