In the heart of the volcanic Eifel, set around a lake, this park has been completely renovated. Aqua Mundo, indoor sports, and a region of maars (crater lakes) to explore. The Nürburgring is 20 minutes away.

What the listings don't tell you

Your stay at the park

Park Eifel is the largest of our German parks with 440 units, set around a lake at Gunderath, in the middle of the volcanic Eifel. It is also the best equipped in the selection: Aqua Mundo with a wave pool, an outdoor pool as well as the indoor pool, bowling, a multi-sports hall with climbing and indoor minigolf, a mini-market, bicycle hire, five restaurants, wifi. Dogs are allowed. In other words, four days of rain do not sink the stay, which counts in a region where it rains.

The landscape alone is worth the journey. The Daun maars, three crater lakes linked by a path, are nineteen minutes away and can be swum in. The Nürburgring is twenty minutes away, with its tourist laps of the Nordschleife in your own car and the ring°werk museum. Cochem and the Moselle are half an hour away, with a hilltop castle and riesling tasting. The Lava-Dome at Mendig goes thirty-two metres underground into a former lava cellar, and the Vulkan-Express tourist train runs from April to October. Burg Eltz, an hour away, is also only open between April and October.

Two warnings. The drive first: more than three hours from Brussels, a little under two from Liège, one hour twenty-five from Luxembourg. The park makes sense over four nights, not over a short weekend from Belgium. Second, the Ahr-Thermen in Bad Neuenahr, often mentioned as the wellness outing of the region, were hit by the 2021 flood: check that they are open before doing the forty minutes of driving. No sourced public rating is available for this park.
