The best holiday park in Belgium in autumn

What autumn closes, park by park

Every recorded activity around a park carries its opening season when it has one. Sorting on that field produces a short list for the Belgian parks, and it spares nobody.

• Sandaya Parc La Clusure (Tellin) opens only from April to early November. A weekend there in late November is impossible, and kayaking on the Lesse stops in October.
• EuroParcs Zilverstrand (Mol) loses the Zilvermeer, open May to September, and Bobbejaanland closes at the end of October. Its only confirmed pool is outdoors.
• Sunparks Kempense Meren loses the same two outings, but keeps its indoor Aquafun.
• Landal Mooi Zutendaal sees the Japanese garden in Hasselt and the Terhills Cablepark close at the end of October, and the Mechelse Heide heather flowers only in August and September.
• Center Parcs Erperheide loses the Japanese garden at the end of October and Bokrijk in early November, and gains in December the Christmas market and Winterland in Hasselt, 37 minutes away.
• Center Parcs Les Ardennes and Vayamundo Houffalize keep Plopsaland Ardennes into November, and lose the kayaking at the end of October.

The indoor pool splits the nine in two

Between 15 October and 30 November the question is no longer the landscape but the plan B. Five of the nine Belgian parks have a confirmed indoor pool with us: Center Parcs Les Ardennes, Center Parcs Erperheide, Center Parcs De Vossemeren, Sunparks Kempense Meren and Vayamundo Houffalize.

The other four do not. EuroParcs Zilverstrand has only an outdoor pool, useless in November. Landal Mooi Zutendaal and Sandaya Parc La Clusure have no confirmed pool at all, indoors or out. Chalet Le Haut Lieu in Malmedy is not a park but a single chalet for eight people: it compensates with a private sauna and a hot tub, which is a different sort of plan B.

The same count applies to the indoor playground. Erperheide is the only Belgian park in the database that confirms one, Baluba, announced at 2,000 m². No other Belgian park ticks that box, De Vossemeren and its 660 units included.

The ones where the woods carry the weekend

Center Parcs Les Ardennes, above Vielsalm, advertises 300 hectares of forest around the cottages, and its autumn programme depends on no opening date at all: Stavelot and its abbey are 19 minutes away, Reinhardstein castle 43, the Bastogne War Museum 41. From Brussels, reckon on 2h 02m; from Liège, 54 minutes. Booking.com score 7.4/10, recorded on 9 September 2026.

Vayamundo Houffalize is 2h 00m from Brussels and 52 minutes from Liège, with Houffalize and its mountain-bike trails four minutes away and La Roche-en-Ardenne at 32. It is the only Belgian park in the database offering half board or full board, which matters when you would rather not go back out for groceries in the rain. Booking.com score 8.0/10 on 9 September 2026.

Center Parcs De Vossemeren (Lommel) plays a different hand: the Sahara van Lommel, a stretch of dunes and pines 18 minutes away, walks as well in November as in July. The park carries the highest public score in our whole database, 8.6/10 on Booking.com on 9 September 2026, and confirms 660 units, which tells you the scale of the site on a Sunday in the school holidays.

September has a window the rest of autumn does not

The heather of the Mechelse Heide, in Hoge Kempen National Park, flowers in August and September. It is 22 minutes from Landal Mooi Zutendaal, which happens to be the Belgian park closest to Brussels in our database, at 1h 21m, and 44 minutes from Liège. Connecterra, the gateway to the national park, is 23 minutes away, and the cycle routes start at the park.

After the end of September that same park loses much of its point. There is no confirmed indoor pool, no kids' club and no indoor playground, and the public score is the lowest of the Belgian parks in the database: 6/10 on Tripadvisor on 9 September 2026, level with Sandaya Parc La Clusure. A dry September weekend, yes; a November weekend, no.

The reasoning changes with your departure city: the parks from Liège and those from Antwerp sort the same database on your own driving times.

The ranking, with its limits

For a weekend between mid-October and the end of November in Belgium, Center Parcs De Vossemeren has the best case in our data: the highest public score in the database, an indoor pool, a spa, and dunes 18 minutes away that never close. Center Parcs Erperheide follows, with 8.2/10 on Booking.com on 9 September 2026 and the only 2,000 m² indoor space in the Belgian selection, which counts for a lot with children under ten.

In September alone, Landal Mooi Zutendaal has an argument nobody else has, and our pages give the heather in flower to the end of the month. If you are after two quiet days rather than a whole resort, Chalet Le Haut Lieu in Malmedy is 46 minutes from Liège, fourteen minutes from the Signal de Botrange, with a private hot tub and sauna. No public score exists for that chalet in our data, and we do not make one up.
