The “dogs allowed” field is recorded park by park in our database. Twenty-three of the 33 parks have it set to yes. The geography is the surprise: none of the nine Belgian parks in the database is among them. Not Center Parcs Erperheide, not Center Parcs De Vossemeren, not Center Parcs Les Ardennes, not Sunparks Kempense Meren, not EuroParcs Zilverstrand, not Landal Mooi Zutendaal.

In practice: a weekend with the dog leaving from Brussels crosses a border, into the Netherlands, Germany or France. Leaving from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht or Eindhoven, that border is irrelevant — the nearest parks are simply at home.

Landal Ferienpark Wirfttal (Stadtkyll, Eifel) is 1h 34m from Liège and 2h 36m from Brussels. The Vulkaneifel volcano trail starts 3 minutes away, the Kyll valley cycle path leaves from the park, the Daun crater lakes are 38 minutes away and the Eifel-Zoo 25. The accommodation list includes a “dogs allowed” house with an enclosed garden, which settles the night and the early morning in one go. Landal Warsberg (Saarburg, Saar valley), 3h 15m from Brussels, is a long-weekend proposition.
