What does a weekend at a holiday park really cost?

The range, straight away

For two adults and two children leaving Brussels for three nights, a weekend at a holiday park comes to between €752 and €1,295 depending on the park, across the 33 parks in our database. The median is €1,019, or about €255 a head. The accommodation alone runs from €249 to €449: in other words, less than half the final bill in almost every case.

Item 1 — the accommodation: €249 to €449

Every park page carries an estimate for three nights and four people. Across the 33 parks it stretches from €249 (EuroParcs Zilverstrand, in the Kempen) to €449 (Center Parcs Les Ardennes, Center Parcs Port Zélande and Villages Nature Paris). The median lands at €379, the average at €363. Per night, that is €83 at the bottom and €150 at the top.

That figure has an origin and a limit. Of the 33 parks, 23 show a headline price on their own page; the other ten, including the nine Landal sites in the database, show none. For those ten, the estimate is rebuilt by comparison with neighbouring parks in the same bracket, and it is flagged as such wherever it appears.

Two coefficients then apply. Length of stay: three nights count as 1, four to six nights as 0.95, seven nights or more as 0.85. Group size: up to four people 1, five to six people 1.25, seven or more 1.5. A stay for six in the same park therefore does not cost one and a half times the stay for four, but a quarter more.

The three items the headline price does not cover

The drive. It is worked out from the real driving time from your city, converted at an average of 75 km/h, then charged at €0.25 a kilometre there and back, fuel and wear included. From Brussels that gives €52 for EuroParcs Zilverstrand (103 km), €60 for Landal Het Vennenbos and Center Parcs De Vossemeren (120 km), €75 for Vayamundo Houffalize (150 km). It is the steadiest of the four items: it depends neither on the length of the stay nor on how many people are in the car.

The food. The calculation allows €18 per adult per day and €9 per child per day cooking in the accommodation, plus one meal out, valued at the average price of the restaurants actually recorded on site. Hence gaps that catch people out: €354 at Zilverstrand, €492 at Landal Mooi Zutendaal and at Center Parcs De Vossemeren for the same number of nights and people. The difference is not in the shopping, it is in the class of the restaurants on site.

The activities. The calculation takes the average of the paid activities recorded around the park, counts one activity a day from the second day on, and weights children at 0.8. From €96 at Center Parcs Erperheide to €199 at Center Parcs De Vossemeren over three nights. A park surrounded by free things to do — paths, lake beaches, cycle routes — comes out lower as a matter of arithmetic. The low-budget selection gathers the parks whose accommodation estimate stays below the median.

Three real budgets, lowest to highest

Same starting point for all three: Brussels, two adults, two children, three nights.

• EuroParcs Zilverstrand (Mol, 1h 22m) — accommodation €249, drive €52, food €354, activities €97: €752, that is €188 a head or €63 per person per night. Public score 7.9/10 on Booking.com from 404 reviews, recorded on 9 September 2026. No confirmed indoor pool: this is a fine-weather park, with an outdoor pool and a lakeside beach.
• Landal Het Vennenbos (Hapert, 1h 36m) — €339 + €60 + €342 + €144 = €885, that is €221 a head. Score 8.3/10 on Zoover from 2,289 reviews, recorded on 9 September 2026: the best documented score in our database. Indoor pool, wave pool, outdoor pool, kids' club and a supermarket on site.
• Center Parcs De Vossemeren (Lommel, 1h 36m) — €429 + €60 + €492 + €199 = €1,180, that is €295 a head. Score 8.6/10 on Booking.com from 636 reviews, recorded on 9 September 2026: the highest in the whole database. It is also the only park whose number of units is confirmed by a citable source, 660.

Between the first and the third the gap is €428, while the gap in accommodation is only €180. Two thirds of the difference therefore come down to food and activities — decisions you take after you have booked.

Do four nights cost a third more?

No. Going from three nights to four adds between €169 and €268 depending on the park, so 22 to 24 % and not 33 %. At Zilverstrand the stay goes from €752 to €921; at Center Parcs Erperheide, from €912 to €1,120; at Landal Het Vennenbos, from €885 to €1,101; at De Vossemeren, from €1,180 to €1,448.

Two reasons for that. The drive does not move by a euro, since it is the same road. And the length coefficient drops from 1 to 0.95 as soon as the fourth night is added. Per night, a four-night stay therefore works out cheaper than a three-night one — but it costs more in total, and the total is what you pay.

Five ways to bring the bill down

1. Shorten the drive rather than the stay. Every half hour of road saved is worth about €19 there and back for one car, and a calmer evening on arrival.
2. Pick a park where eating out is simple. The €138 gap seen between two parks on the food item comes from the average price of the restaurants on site, not from the shopping.
3. Aim for a park surrounded by free things to do. Paths, lake beaches and cycle routes do not count towards the activities item.
4. Go as six rather than four when you can: the accommodation takes a quarter more, not half.
5. Treat parks with no public score carefully, in both directions: 15 parks out of 33 have none from a citable source. No score is not a bad score, it is an unknown.

What this calculation does not know

It ignores your dates. A half-term weekend and a February weekend do not sell for the same price at the operators, and our estimate does not move from one day to the next: it exists to rank parks against one another, not to predict a bill.

It also ignores the exact size of the unit chosen, the tourist tax, the cleaning fee, the deposit, any pet supplement and booking fees. Those amounts sit on the operator's booking page, never here.
