Which chain is better rated?

Neither stands out. Ten of the 19 Center Parcs and four of the 9 Landals carry a recorded public score on our pages, averaging 7.7 and 7.4 out of 10. The gap is too small and the samples too small to conclude: the highest score in the database (8.6/10, De Vossemeren) and the lowest (5.7/10, De Huttenheugte) both belong to Center Parcs.

The difference is less about quality than about consistency: with one chain almost every site resembles the next, with the other you have to look at the site.

What our database holds, and what it does not

Our database counts 33 parks. Center Parcs holds 19 of them (Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France), Landal 9 (Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany). The remaining five belong to five different operators, one site each: EuroParcs, Sunparks, Vayamundo, Sandaya and Ardenne Résidences.

Comparing a chain of 19 parks with a chain of 9, and then with five standalone sites, has a limit worth stating: an average over 19 is solid, an average over 1 is not an average. The figures below are there to show a tendency, not to hand out a prize.

Facilities: consistency, not quality

This is the sharpest difference, and it holds throughout. All 19 Center Parcs have a confirmed indoor pool, without exception. At Landal, 8 of the 9 sites have one: the exception is Landal Mooi Zutendaal — a bungalow park on the edge of the Hoge Kempen, built for walking and cycling, not for swimming.

Read those figures as odds, not as a promise. A Center Parcs picked at random gives you an indoor pool for certain and a private sauna nine times out of ten. A Landal picked at random gives you an indoor pool almost always, and a private sauna less than one time in two. Neither chain guarantees a wellness area on site: that stays in the minority on both sides.

Estimated prices: roughly €80 a stay between them

In our estimates, the Center Parcs sites run from €359 to €449, averaging €401. The Landal sites run from €289 to €349, averaging €319. The average gap therefore comes to about €80 on the same reference stay — the order of magnitude of an extra night.

Part of the difference is explained by what comes before it: a site with an indoor pool, a private sauna, an indoor playground and several restaurants costs more to run than a bungalow park in the woods. You are not paying for the same thing.

Distance: Landal is structurally closer

From Brussels, a Center Parcs in our database is 3h 30m away on average, a Landal 2h 31m. That gap is no credit to the chain: Center Parcs has sites in Picardy, in the Saarland, in the Sauerland and on the German North Sea coast, and that distance drags the average up.

The figure that matters for a weekend lies elsewhere: 3 of the 19 Center Parcs are two hours or less from Brussels, against 4 of the 9 Landals. In other words, nearly half the Landal offer fits inside a weekend radius, against a sixth of the Center Parcs offer.

Public scores: half of them are missing

We show a score only when we know which platform it was recorded on and on what date. The result: 10 of the 19 Center Parcs carry a score on our pages, and 4 of the 9 Landals. The corresponding averages are 7.7 and 7.4 out of 10 — too small a gap, on too small a sample, to settle anything.

The individual scores say more than those averages. Center Parcs De Vossemeren reaches 8.6/10 (Booking.com, recorded 9 September 2026), Landal Het Vennenbos 8.3/10 (Zoover, same date), Center Parcs Erperheide 8.2/10 (Booking.com, same date). Lower down, Landal Mooi Zutendaal sits at 3.8 out of 5 (Tripadvisor, recorded 20 September 2026) — Tripadvisor rates out of five bubbles, not ten. The highest and the lowest score in the database both belong to Center Parcs — 8.6/10 for De Vossemeren, 5.7/10 for De Huttenheugte (Zoover, same date): the site decides, not the brand.

And the five single-site operators

All five are Belgian and all five are two hours or less from Brussels, which makes them serious candidates for two nights. EuroParcs Zilverstrand (1h 22m) is the cheapest in the database at €249 estimated, and 7.9/10 on Booking.com recorded on 9 September 2026, but with no indoor pool: the lake and the sandy beach place it in summer. Vayamundo Houffalize (2h 00m) is the best rated of the five at 8.0/10 (Booking.com, 9 September 2026), with a confirmed indoor pool, wellness area and kids' club. Sunparks Kempense Meren (1h 30m) has an indoor pool and 7.1/10 (Booking.com, 9 September 2026).

The last two play a different game: Sandaya Parc La Clusure, a campsite in the Lomme valley, at €279 and 3.8 out of 5 on Tripadvisor (recorded 20 September 2026; Tripadvisor rates out of five bubbles), and Chalet Le Haut Lieu at Malmedy, a single unit with a private sauna, at €259, with no recorded public score — a remote chalet is not a park, and we do not invent a score for it.

How to decide in practice

With children under ten in November the indoor pool is not negotiable: Center Parcs guarantees it, with Landal you check the site.
If the weekend happens outdoors — cycling, walking, water — you will not use the indoor facilities you pay for at Center Parcs.
As a couple, for quiet, look at the private sauna in the unit rather than the site's wellness area: the first is far more common in both chains.
With a dog, check the site's page and not the chain: two Landals and three Center Parcs in the database do not take dogs, or have not confirmed it.
In every case, compare the driving time from your own city rather than from Brussels: across nineteen departure cities the ranking changes.
