Toussaint holidays: when to book your holiday park
The Toussaint (All Saints') school holiday cannot be booked like a standard November weekend. France, French-speaking Belgium, parts of the Netherlands, and North Rhine-Westphalia are all on holiday the same week, and the real discounts are won in June. Here is the calendar with the recorded figures.

How far in advance should you book for the Toussaint holiday?
At least four months before arrival, meaning before mid-June for a departure in mid-October. This is the threshold for early booking discounts published by operators: at Center Parcs, booking more than 4 months in advance gives a 20% discount and up to €45 in activity credit; at Beekse Bergen, booking at least 120 days before arrival gives up to 15% off, including during school holidays.
For an arrival on Saturday 17 October 2026, the first day of the holidays in France, 120 days prior fell on 19 June 2026. The rule is recalculated every year based on your arrival date, not the start of the school holiday.
Who is on holiday at the same time as you during Toussaint?
Eight school calendars target the same holiday parks in the Benelux and the Eifel in autumn, plus France. In 2026, the week of 19 to 25 October brings five of them together: France, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the Central and Southern Netherlands, and North Rhine-Westphalia.
| Calendar | Dates 2026 | Local Name |
|---|---|---|
| France, zones A, B and C | 17 October to 1 November (classes resume 2 November) | Vacances de la Toussaint |
| Belgium, Wallonia-Brussels Federation | 19 October to 1 November | Congé d'automne |
| Belgium, Flemish Community | 2 to 8 November | Herfstvakantie |
| Netherlands, Northern region | 10 to 18 October | Herfstvakantie |
| Netherlands, Central and Southern regions | 17 to 25 October | Herfstvakantie |
| Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia | 17 to 31 October | Herbstferien |
| Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland | 5 to 16 October | Herbstferien |
The Dutch dates for the herfstvakantie are advisory dates recommended by the government: schools may deviate from them. All official sources can be found on our page Toussaint holidays 2026.
- From 19 to 25 October: five calendars on holiday at the same time. This is the week when parks in Brabant, Limburg and the Ardennes fill up the earliest.
- From 26 October to 1 November: Dutch schools have gone back. France, French-speaking Belgium and North Rhine-Westphalia remain on holiday until the 31st.
- From 2 to 8 November: only Flanders is on holiday. French and Walloon families have returned to school.
Belgian families: two autumn holidays that no longer overlap
Since the 2022 school calendar reform, Belgium has two autumn holidays. In the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, it lasts two weeks, from 19 October to 1 November 2026. In Flanders, it lasts one week, from 2 to 8 November. The two no longer overlap.
- On the French-speaking side, the two weeks coincide with France, and the first week also overlaps with the Central and Southern Netherlands. This is the period when you need to book the earliest.
- On the Flemish side, the week of 2 to 8 November occurs when France, Wallonia, Brussels and the Netherlands have gone back to school. Fewer families are targeting the same parks, leaving more choice for late bookings.
For a Flemish stay from 2 to 8 November, the last-minute booking window for Center Parcs, less than two months before arrival, opens in early September. For Wallonia and Brussels, the key date is the early booking deadline: 120 days before 19 October, which is 21 June 2026.
Does waiting until the last minute lower the price for Toussaint?
Hardly. On 17 October 2026, the first day of the holidays in France, the Center Parcs Toussaint page still showed 375 available units. Across the first ten 'Last Minute' offers displayed for Le Lac d'Ailette, Les Bois-Francs, Le Bois aux Daims and Villages Nature, the discount ranged from 1% to 13%, for rates of €204 to €511 per night in accommodation sleeping 4 to 6 people.
This is below the maximum last-minute discount advertised by Center Parcs, which is up to 15% less than two months before arrival, and far from the 20% early booking discount. Other operators follow the same logic: Beekse Bergen advertises up to 25% off for last-minute bookings, but subject to availability; Roompot does not publish any percentage.
Booking early without losing your freedom: what the terms allow
Booking four months in advance can be daunting when dates are not certain. Yet the published terms offer some flexibility, which varies by operator.
- Center Parcs: bookings can be modified up to 21 days before arrival, and payment can be split into three instalments fee-free.
- Roompot: for bookings made after 1 September 2026, cancellation is free within the following 7 days, provided arrival is at least 8 weeks away. Changing your park, accommodation or dates remains free of charge up to 8 weeks before arrival, as long as the total price does not decrease.
- Beekse Bergen: the early booking discount of up to 15% applies to the total rental amount and is also valid during school holidays.
Which parks are still open during the Toussaint holiday?
Center Parcs resorts remain open: on 17 October 2026, their Toussaint page offered accommodation at Le Lac d'Ailette, Les Bois-Francs, Le Bois aux Daims and Villages Nature. Campsites, on the other hand, often close just after. Three listings in our catalogue indicate a season ending in November:
- Camping Sandaya Parc La Clusure, in the Belgian Ardennes in Tellin: open from April to early November, closed in winter.
- Camping Le Boucanet, in Le Grau-du-Roi: open from April to early November.
- Sandaya Côte de Nacre, in Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer: open from April to November.
For these campsites, the Toussaint holiday is the final window of the year. Before booking the second week, check the exact closing date on the operator's website.

Preparing for Toussaint 2027: the four-step timeline
- Check the official dates of your school calendar as soon as they are published: education.gouv.fr for France, enseignement.be for the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
- Count 120 days before your arrival date: this is the deadline for early booking discounts at Center Parcs and Beekse Bergen.
- Check which other countries are on holiday during the same week on the school holidays page. A week where five calendars overlap should be booked first.
- If you are aiming for a campsite, check its closing date before booking: many close in early November.
The right holiday park for the Toussaint holiday depends on your departure city and what your children will do when it rains.
