A historic 300 ha estate with an Aqua Mundo and a wave pool, a 9-hole golf course, a children's farm and a lake. 1h 30m from Paris, between the Perche and the Eure valley.
What the listings don't tell you
Your stay at the park
This is the first French Center Parcs, opened in the 1980s on 300 hectares on the edge of the Perche and the Eure valley. The age of the estate shows in the trees, tall and dense, and in the architecture of the Pagodes, a type of accommodation specific to this park, available in Premium and VIP alongside the Comfort and Premium Cottages and hotel rooms for two.
Two facilities shape the stay. The Aqua Mundo includes a wave pool, which is true of only a minority of parks. And the golf course is a nine-hole, on the estate itself: enough to fill a morning for a player, not enough to build a golfing holiday on. A children's farm completes the offer.
The outings, though, call for driving. Verneuil-sur-Avre is 26 minutes away and the fine-dining restaurant Patine, in the Verneuil la Douce house, 10 minutes. After that, everything moves further off: Chartres 1 hour 21 minutes, the château de Chambray 1 hour 17 minutes, Giverny and Monet's garden 1 hour 37 minutes and only from April to October, Cerza zoo 1 hour 41 minutes. In other words, the park stands on its own most days, with one or two long excursions over the week. No public rating is available in our sources. From Paris, 2 hours; from Brussels, 5 hours 13 minutes, which rules out a weekend for a Belgian traveller.
